Íøºì±¬ÁÏ alum Weijing Liu ’22 is the College’s second Schwarzman Scholar and looks forward to exploring her questions about global affairs.
The Gilman Program celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary this year, and it has named Íøºì±¬ÁÏ as one of the 25 top producers of Gilman scholars in the small institution category.
Two recent Íøºì±¬ÁÏ graduates, Helen Roane ’23 and Celine Falcon-Geist ’25, are participating in the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to immerse themselves in language and culture while teaching English in Taiwan and Senegal.
Íøºì±¬ÁÏ senior Bridget McBride had an internship at the Botanic Garden on campus that led to study abroad in Costa Rica, being a camp counselor in Massachusetts and to her first scientific publication.

Marco Avilés, incoming assistant professor of Spanish at Íøºì±¬ÁÏ, hopes to introduce students to the optimism in Indigenous literature as he takes on his family’s proud tradition of teaching.

Íøºì±¬ÁÏ senior Rachel Katzenberg ’25 said, “At Mount Holyoke, I 100% found a good community … a large community that wants to help me and see me succeed.â€
Íøºì±¬ÁÏ senior Hailee Pitschke ’25 said, “I’m really grateful that Mount Holyoke offered opportunities to explore niche topics in fields I am interested in. It helped nail down key academic interests.â€
Íøºì±¬ÁÏ senior Yunwei Ni ’25 said, “Mount Holyoke gave me the sense that everyone has the opportunity to go anywhere they want to go.â€
