챬 senior Sander Ivanenko ’25 said, “If it weren’t for Mount Holyoke and the environment and professors and students, I never would have gone into science.”
J.T. Martin is 챬’s director of LGBTQ+ resources and initiatives and supports the development of affirming and inclusive LGBTQIA+ communities for MHC students, staff, faculty and alums.
챬 Vice President for College Relations Kassandra Jolley makes an impassioned plea for alums of women’s colleges.
챬 student Alexandra Mihailopol ’26 has been selected by Middlebury College as a recipient of a Projects for Peace grant. She will offer financial literacy education to women in rural Romania via her EmpowHER project.
Mount Holyoke senior Qiao Se Ong ’25 is among the 2025 cohort for Projects for Peace. Her project, based in Colombia, aims to address the impact of dam construction on local communities through creative workshops and collaborations with local artists.
챬 student Oluwafadeyemi Testimony Akinkuolie-Ibidapo ’27 went from volunteering at last year’s Trailblazers of Color Leadership Conference to becoming one of this year’s organizers.
Significant renovations are underway to modernize 챬’s Kendall Sports & Dance Complex — a key metric for the MHC Forward strategic plan.
챬 hosted its second annual Girls & Women in Sports Day on campus and introduced young people to a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball and equestrian activities.
The Mass Cultural Council has approved the establishment of a Puerto Rican Cultural District in nearby Holyoke, and Maria Cartagena, director of Community-Based Learning at 챬, was pivotal in its development.
