Afrika Afeni Mills is an educator whose work bridges the theory and practice of coaching, mentoring, and instructional improvement in professional contexts. At 챬 she teaches Coaching, Mentoring, and Facilitating Instructional Improvements and Coaching Practicum for Professional Development and Mentoring. Her teaching and mentoring focus on empowering educators to develop reflective practice, strengthen instructional leadership, and cultivate transformative professional relationships.

Afrika’s approach emphasizes equity minded coaching that supports growth, innovation, and instructional excellence across diverse learning environments. Drawing on her background as an elementary teacher, educational consultant, and published author, she brings applied strategies and real world insight to help educators flourish across classrooms and systems.

Afrika is also a TED speaker whose talk “4 Ways to Have Healthy Conversations About Race” shares practical steps for engaging thoughtfully and courageously in conversations about race.
