Brahim Oulbeid

Brahim Oulbeid teaches French language courses using a communicative, student‑centered approach. He builds students’ self‑confidence and fosters a growth mindset—reducing language anxiety—through consistent connection in person and online through our Language Management Systems, Moodle and Canvas.

Oulbeid has taught French at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and at Westfield State University, and has offered Arabic across the Five Colleges. Every summer, he teaches in the French program at Middlebury Language Schools. He is Certified ILR French Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Tester/Rater – ACTFL Program.

Oulbeid’s research interests include language teacher education, standard language and native-speaker ideologies, and the interplay of language, culture, and identity in world‑language classrooms. His current work focuses on language textbook evaluation and world language pedagogies for both Arabic and French.
