Cam Steiger, a junior at Íøºì±¬ÁÏ, reviews her educational journey and how she’s been supported by the community, including alums and The Mount Holyoke Fund.
Charlie Watts ’25 is Íøºì±¬ÁÏ’s poet-contestant for this year’s Glascock Poetry Competition and writes about what it’s like to compete with support from a community of other writers and poets.
“Mount Holyoke has truly prepared me for this next step. My professional experience and coursework at the College taught me how to apply these concepts in the real world to effect change. My experience has given me the confidence to go and do that.â€
“Being an English major taught me how to choose my words, learn to know which words to use and which words will make a more empathetic listener. That skill was something I needed.â€
“Now that I have the confidence to speak up, I have to speak up for people who can’t speak for themselves.â€
“I want to use what I’ve experienced [at Mount Holyoke] to make lives better, especially in those small-scale, interpersonal ways.â€
Adelia Brown will graduate from Mount Holyoke with three internships under her belt and a vision for the future.
“Everyone here inspires me to push beyond what I thought possible, question assumptions, envision a better world. My peers are formidable and inspiring.â€
