Rising 챬 junior Madeline Wright is spending this summer in the laboratory of Katie Berry, associate professor of biochemistry, studying the interactions between small RNA and different proteins.
챬 senior Marley Berano ’25 said, “I was looking for a place to grow [and] challenge myself but also to have a social life or work on the side while not losing my sport at the same time.”
Cam Steiger, a junior at 챬, reviews her educational journey and how she’s been supported by the community, including alums and The Mount Holyoke Fund.
“I talk with friends who are not Mount Holyoke students, and they have limited research experience. But here, I’ve done research with two advisors in two different departments.”
“I cannot imagine what my life could have been like without Mount Holyoke,” she said. “Be it academics, internships, extracurricular activities, community, friendships and interests, Mount Holyoke beautifully helped me tie a lot of these things together and become a better and more confident person.”
“Being an English major taught me how to choose my words, learn to know which words to use and which words will make a more empathetic listener. That skill was something I needed.”
Meredith Becher ’23 followed her passion for biology and charted a new course on the Connecticut River from a canoe.
Mount Holyoke student Katie Milligan scored an internship at Al Otro Lado, which provides legal and practical assistance to migrants at the Mexican border.
With her Lynk-funded research and a special major in bioethics and psychology, Michaela Flanders ’22 probes the intersection of society and mental health.
Experience on the job and in the classroom inspired senior Ananya Singh to combine her interests in psychology, economics and nonprofit management.
